Job Details: 

1 total class per week French II/III Grades: 8-12 Wed & Fri, 4 hours per week

 

Should have strong French language proficiency, be able to engage and communicate with students and families, create a student-centered learning environment. Should have the ability to make effective use of a 1.5 hr per wk, twice a week, class time by providing focused, engaging learning opportunities that can connect to required learning/assignments outside the classroom.

 

TITLE:          Level E – Highly Competitive or Rigorous Subject Matter

 

REPORTS TO:         Director of Sky Valley Education Center

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  To plan, organize and implement workshops teaching the fundamentals, routines, and/or proper techniques associated with the subject.  To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement as well as individual student growth. To demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, human relations and be a positive role model for all students.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the subject area required or

Professional program or content area certification

Documented professional experience with the assigned subject matter

Previous experience working with school aged students in an alternative learning environment

                        Rules and regulations of activity if applicable

                        Fundamental and advanced subject matter content required

                        Effective teaching techniques for developing skills and abilities

                        Classroom/Team dynamics and effective behavior management techniques

      Effective communications

      Classroom management

      Motivating students

      Fairness and consistency

                        Demonstrate and maintain productive and positive interpersonal skills

                        Provide instruction which incorporates all student learning styles and abilities

                        Provide an atmosphere conducive to good student citizenship

                        Provide leadership to and direction of course content

                        Plan effective workshops that lead to improved student skills

                        Work cooperatively with other staff

                        Compile and maintain accurate student records

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically performed in the school setting or may be held outdoors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

This position is that of non represented employee.  The position will work a schedule determined by the Director of Sky Valley Education Center based on student need and interest.  Salary as determined by the current salary schedule.

Performance shall be evaluated annually according to Board and administrative policies and procedures.
