POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and implements Applied Behavior Analysis programing for students with identified needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

General Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to federal and state laws and district regulations, policies, procedures and practices
  2. Mandatory reporter for incidents of child abuse, harassment, intimidation, bullying, boundary invasions, fights, substance abuse etc.
  3. Abide by employment provisions provided
  4. Observe strict confidentiality regarding student information
  5. Maintain regular punctual attendance.

 

Instruction and Learning:

  1. Screens, interviews and makes recommendations regarding staff who supports ABA programs
  2. Works effectively with staff to use data in a timely manner to plan, supervise, evaluate and revise instructional programs to meet students’ needs
  3. Collaboratively plans and provides in-service programs for parents, staff and component district personnel
  4. Supervises, manages and/or makes recommendations for students’ individual education programs and evaluations/reevaluations
  5. Provides leadership in technical areas as designated especially in regard to conducting functional assessments and analyzing the challenges surrounding student skills acquisition
  6. Assist in the development, facilitation, conducting and follow-up of training in the analysis of behavior
  7. Provide consultation services and maintain ongoing communication with all constituents (LEA and SSD staff, parents, community and community agencies)
  8. Keep current with the literature, new research findings and resources

 

Resource Utilization:

Works collaboratively with district staff to implement procedures related to special education policies/procedures, district instructional initiatives, district goals and philosophies.

  1. Utilizes available staff development activities to improve self and others
  2. Ensures instructional information materials and resources are readily available for staff and students and are appropriate to meet instructional needs

 

Collaboration:

  1. Meets with district personnel, administrators, parents, staff and students in problem solving and conflict resolution
  2. Ensures responsive communications with students, families, staff and community agencies
  3. Provides effective leadership and collaboration within the school districts, schools, and special education personnel to enhance and support student achievement
  4. Teams with staff and administrators to implement effective practices and strong linkages throughout the district

 

Compliance:

  1. Responsible for collecting and maintaining accurate data as required by the district.
  2. Implements district policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Board policies, district, state and federal laws and guidelines.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned.

·         Use of a personal computer for extended periods of time

·         Ability to perceive the nature of sound; near/far visual acuity, depth perception

·         Ability to communicate orally; manual dexterity to operate office machines, gross and fine motor skills

·         Exert 10 to 20 pounds of force on a frequent basis

·         Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

·         Sit for extended periods of time, walk, stand

·         Attend off site trainings and workshops as deemed necessary

·         Work is conducted in a shared, open, office environment with consideration toward equipment noise, confidentiality, voice volume

·         The job is performed with the majority of time spent indoors and under minimal temperature variations; a portion of the day may be time spent outdoors and is subject to a variety of changing weather conditions and potentially uneven/slippery surfaces

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

This position is that of Physical Therapist and is represented by the Monroe Education Association collective bargaining unit. The position will work a schedule in coordination with the District student calendar. Salary and benefits as determined by the current collective bargaining agreement. Employee is required to complete all mandatory district trainings.

 

EVALUATION PROCEDURES

The Physical Therapist shall be evaluated by the Director of Student Services according to currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employee’s performance of the above position responsibilities.
