Position Info:

TITLE:                                    Drama Club Assistant Advisor

 

REPORTS TO:                   Administrator in Charge of Activities

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position of Drama Club Assistant Advisor works with the high school Drama Club Advisor as the Music Director for the Spring Musical or any other music performances put on by the drama club. They assist in recruitment, auditions, rehearsals, and performances as well as helping to promote the arts district wide.

 

Preferred Qualifications (minimum)

  • Employed as a Monroe Certificated staff member (desirable)
  • Extensive experience and personal interest in the performing arts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and principals
  • Ability to work with minimum direction, but as an effective member of the team

 

Special Requirements

  • Valid First Aid/CPR card
  • Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance
  • I-9 employment eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
  • HIV/HBV training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided)
  • Human Resources new hire training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided)

 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in selecting the spring musical
  • Assist in musical auditions
  • Running all vocal music rehearsals
  • Communicating with the Orchestra director and pit orchestra
  • Assist when needed for music incorporated into non-musical plays
  • Responsible for the safety, welfare and conduct of the students

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the coordinator to be flexible and have the ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously. The coordinator must possess outstanding communication skills.

 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

This position is a classified position and is represented by Monroe Education Association. Release time of stipend as established by MEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 

The assignment is for one year and may be renewed based on evaluations of performance and/or funding capacity

 

EVALUATION PROCEDURES

Performance shall be evaluated annually according to Board and administrative policies and procedures.
